Paratene™ M361 Acid Cleaner and Degreaser Technical Data Sheet Description Paratene™ M361 is a blend of solvents, acids, chelating agents and surfactants designed to aid in the removal of light oil, grease, oxides and carbonates from metal surfaces. Paratene™ M361 can be applied by dipping in a tank, sprayed on as a liquid, or sprayed as foam. Paratene™ M361 contains a corrosion inhibitor to prevent the corrosion of carbon steel and aluminum. Paratene™ M361 contains no chlorides and is safe for use on stainless steel. Paratene™ M361 will remove iron oxides and other acid soluble deposits from metal surfaces leaving the surface passive and free of oils and greases. Typical Physical Properties - Appearance Clear liquid - Specific Gravity 1.21 - Flash Point None - pH 1 - Freeze Point 0°C - Ionic Character Nonionic Methods of Application Paratene™ M361 can be applied in a dip tank at dilution ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:10 with water. We recommend that the solution be heated to 55 – 60 °C to obtain the optimum removal rates. Paratene™ M361 can also be applied directly as a spray either in an undiluted or diluted with water to clean metal surfaces or deposits from masonry. Paratene™ M361 can also be applied as a foam using a foam gun or generator. The product should be diluted 1:1 prior to use for this application. Paratene™ M361 can be applied to stainless steel or carbon steel at temperatures up to 60°C with little or no corrosion. Dilute solutions of Paratene™ M361 may be used to clean and brighten aluminum under a recommended contact time limitation of 5 to10 minutes. Safety and Handling Paratene™ M361 contains a strong acid and is corrosive to the eyes and skin, avoid prolonged contact and inhalation of mists or fogs. Refer to the MSDS for details.
